We print your book locally in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and other countries — helping reduce production and delivery times. Every book is made to order. Softcover books usually take about 2-4 days to produce and hardcover books about 2-6 days. These are typical times rather than guaranteed deadlines, and production can take longer over major holidays.

For our main destinations — the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand — delivery usually takes about 3-7 days after production. Production and shipping are separate stages, so please allow for both.

Gifting and returns

Send the book straight to the person receiving it by entering their address at checkout. We never include a receipt showing the price, so it arrives ready to give.

We offer a 30-day return policy. If you change your mind, you can return your book within 30 days of receiving it for a refund. If your book arrives damaged, has a production error or does not match the personalization you submitted, write to hello@startstoryhelper.com and we will make it right.

1. What can I personalize?

Personalization varies from book to book. Depending on the story you may be able to personalize the child's name, their appearance, a personal dedication, their pet and additional family details. Some books even let us create the child's character from a photograph. The product page shows exactly what is available for the book you choose.

2. Can I preview my book before ordering?

For most of our books, yes. Many Start Story Helper books include a full personalized preview you can see while you customize the story. For a few special formats a complete live preview isn't available, and the product page will say so.

3. How long does it take to make my book?

6. Can I send a book straight to someone as a gift?

Absolutely. Just enter the recipient's address as the shipping address at checkout. We never include a receipt showing the price, so the book arrives ready to give.

7. Is there a limit on the child's name?

For the best appearance throughout the book we recommend names of up to 10 characters, in latin letters. You can use a full name or the nickname they know and love. If the name is longer, contact us and we'll see what we can do.

8. Can I change my book after ordering?

Contact us as soon as you notice a mistake. There is no fixed editing window because every order enters production at a different time — the sooner you reach us, the better the chance we can still make the change.
